Whenever we don't provide an adequate amount of the fat to the body. All these cells start to do it by themselves and now all form of cholesterols in the blood stream will flow in the body, freely and may cause related diseases". This all is stated by the books of modern bio-chemistry. Perhaps it sounds different from the guidance, what they say about it. So start taking adequate amount of the fats in your diet. If you are Vata body type you need more and if you are Kapha body type you need a lesser amount of the fats in your diet.
The theory behind the atherosclerosis is it that you shouldn't do anything which can harm walls of your arteries. Anger, depression, mood up and downs are few of these. Once you change your mood, your hormonal level swings and these hormones cause an increased level of activity in your body and this cause a lot of wear and tear in your body. Foods:

Eat citrus fruits like lemon, oranges; as much you can eat. Acidic taste is the best for heart, according to Ayurveda.

Add Saindhva Salt (Rock Salt) in your diet as it is a good source of Potassium ions, required for the better working of your heart and it has a less amount of the Sodium, which causes problems for your heart.

Eat next meal only then, when your first eaten meal has been digested properly.

Don't eat more than your body's requirement.

Abstinence is important from Cigarettes, Fast foods and Alcoholic drinks more than the fats.

Use fats in an adequate amount.
