Restrictions:
When one is taking Rasona for therapeutic purpose he should avoid exercise, stay in sun, anger, taking too much water, milk, and jaggery; this will aggravate the disease instead of benefitting.
Medicinal value:

Rasona is claimed to help prevent heart diseases including atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, hypertension and blockage in arteries.

Study showed that supplementation with Rasona extract inhibites vascular calcification in human patients with high blood cholesterol.

A stronger tasting clove of Rasona has more sulphur content, because of its sulfur content it is very beneficial in infection and skin diseases.

In 1858, Louis Pasteur observed Rasona's antibacterial activity, and it was used as an antiseptic to prevent gangrene during World War I and World War II.

In 2007 a BBC news story reported that Allium sativum may have beneficial properties, such as preventing and fighting the common cold.

Modern science has shown that Rasona is a powerful antibiotic, albeit broad-spectrum rather than targeted. The body does not appear to build up resistance to the garlic, so its positive health benefits continue over time.

Rasona - especially aged Rasona -have a powerful antioxidant effect. Antioxidants help to protect the body against damaging "free radicals".
Contraindications:
Rasona should not be given in pregnancy and to Pitta body type people.

Some special notes about Rasona :
Rasona is useful for pacifying all the three Doshas; for aggravated Vata it should be taken with clarified butter, for Pitta with sugar and for Kapha with honey.
