Ayurveda About Food
Food is known by the term Aahar in Ayurveda. Aahar word means the material which we ingest. So not only the edibles but also the items what we drink like water, milk and juices are also included in the category of foods. This definition seems very crude, it may be! Ayurveda is a science of common man, which directly deals with the masses so no definition can be better than this, when it is to tell a lay man. But this definition is not that much simple and crude as it sounds to be.

Food is the only thing which we, all the sons of nature, allow to enter in our bodies very easily. What goes inside our bodies will show an impact sooner or later, is a truth. No doubt all of us remain eager to have food inside our bodies. Right from the movement food is being served to us all our senses and body systems get activated to welcome the Packed Energy from the nature. So by telling such a brief and simple definition Ayurveda has described a lot about food.

Ayurvedic scholars were well known about the deep impacts of food items on our body and mind, that is why Ayurvedic seers always recommended that one should be more cautious about the food items if one wants to remain healthy and happy.

Every food item has a specific taste and a composition, similar to our individuality, all food items are also special at individual level. When we and our food are same in composition, individuality and characters, it helps the body to work properly. When there is a clash, a "riot" of individuality occurs. What we know as the food allergies. So know your food before eating it as it is going to be a long lasting relation in between both of you. This relation should be sweet and healthy!!

Don't consume food for taste and through ignorance. One must consume it after thoroughly examining the same. The body is that, what we eat!!
